It’s been known by many names, looping, dubbing, etc., but Automated Dialogue Replacement (ADR) has been with us since the early days of “talkies”, when a loop of film would be cut and spliced for each scene to be re-recorded. Over the decades, many techniques and technologies were developed to the point where it’s now a task done via computer. Come join us as we take a trip down memory lane and discuss how the process got started, the many styles of ADR that were developed through the years, the technology involved, and maybe even have some fun trying some ADR for yourself.
